The Conejo Schools Foundation announces Cash 4 Conejo Classrooms, a new initiative that supports CVUSD teachers and their K-12 classrooms. This grant program will enable teachers to enrich the educational experiences of students.
The grant recipients this month are Allen Saute, Sequoia Middle School; Nicole Smith, Colina Middle School; Melissa Glusac, Thousand Oaks High School; Kathi Byington, Aspen Elementary School; and Susan Moore, Lang Ranch Elementary School.
The projects include a yearlong exploration into space travel for second-graders and a published writing experience for high school ninth-graders. All of the classroom programs will add an enriching instructional experience not otherwise available.
While the foundation plans to give four grants per month, an additional donor made a fifth grant possible this month. The idea is to match local businesses to direct support for specific classroom projects.
The Foundation’s annual Walk for Healthy Schools is scheduled for Sept. 24. The walk begins at 9 a.m. at the Thousand Oaks Community Center next to Thousand Oaks High School. Registration begins at 8 a.m. The event will have a 5K walk for adults and a half-K for families with small children.
Information is available at school sites, through the CRPD or atwww.conejoschools.org.
